The Eyes Behind the Practice
Mavis M. Gappy, M.D.
A proud Michigan native, Dr. Gappy’s dedication to eye care is deeply rooted in his local community. He attended Wayne State University, where he received a Bachelor of Science with University Honors. He then obtained his Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) from Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine, graduating with honors and membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.
Dr. Gappy completed a residency in ophthalmology at Henry Ford Hospital, where his leadership and expertise earned him the role of Chief Resident. He is a board-certified ophthalmologist who practices general ophthalmology, providing expert care across a broad range of medical and surgical eye conditions including cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and dry eye syndrome. With a special passion for cataract surgery, Dr. Gappy combines advanced surgical techniques with personalized care to help patients achieve clearer, sharper vision.
Beyond his medical practice, Dr. Gappy enjoys spending quality time with his wife and daughter, being outdoors, and grilling.
